Mississauga News recently invited everyone to submit their favourite photos for their 2011 annual photo contest. The photos had to be anything captured in the City of Mississauga – community events, landscapes, seasons, parks, pets and wildlife.

Up to five photographs could be submitted for the contest. I submitted the following five, which featured landscapes and Lake Ontario wildlife seen from some of Mississauga’s finest parks.

Which one out of the five do you like?

Located in Banff National Park, the picturesque emerald-coloured Lake Louise is considered to be one of the most beautiful lakes in Canada. And is it? You be the judge. Here’s a short clipping of the lake.

The emerald colour comes from “rock flour” (consisting of fine-grained silt-sized particles of rock) that is carried into the lake by melted-water from the over-looking glacier.

Considered one of the world’s top organs, here’s a short clipping of the organ playing at St. Joseph’s Oratory in Montreal. The idyllic Oratory, which is the largest church in Canada, stands proudly on Mont Royal.

See our Videos page for more clippings from our travels.
