It is not without reason that Canada is known as The Great White North. Snow is a staple of Canadian Winters and most Canadians will feel something is amiss if it does not snow by Christmas. This photo essay showcases the “white stuff” that most people from warmer countries have come to associate Canada with.

We are pleased to take part in the weekly Thursday Challenge series organized by A picture related to a new theme announced each week will be posted here. Today’s theme is the “Red”.

It was Saturday morning and we were in Thimphu (Bhutan). We stepped out to see the weekend market and on the way was Zangtho Pelri Lhakhang, a Buddhist temple. We wanted to have a closer look so we went inside and saw monks with a wide range of ages. Seen below are some of the younger ones trying to concentrate on their prayers (we suppose our presence was a bit distracting)…

I was thinking about the things that I love about my motherland, India, and the things that I hate about it. It didn’t take me very long to come up with a list of 5 things that I love and 5 things that I hate about it. Anyone who has visited the country even once will have a strong opinion on it, let alone those who live there or have lived there a long time (like me). With India, you either love it or hate it – there is no in-between!

Here are 5 things that I love about the country. I hope you find it amusing, but in any case, do let me know if you agree or disagree with what I’ve written.
