Here are some more pictures from the preparation that is going on in Toronto for the G-20 Summit to be held on June 26-27 at the Metro Toronto Convention Center. Most of the preparation seen in the pictures below is to prevent vandalism in the event there are riots.
The City officials have removed garbage bins around the security zone – probably to prevent vandalism
The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce has removed its massive logo that was in front of its building (where the people are sitting now) – also to prevent vandalism
The Bank of Nova Scotia has removed a LCD screen that had stock market updates
Most downtown buildings have removed their logos and name plates such as this one from the bottom left hand corner
The Bank of Montreal has removed its giant TV screen from the corner of Bay-King
This was something I noticed today – concrete blocks have been inserted in the spaces (normally for water drainage) to prevent trouble-makers from hiding anything underneath
Toronto’s Hockey Hall of Fame has covered up it’s logo
Riot police, RCMP officers, secret service agents, bomb disposal squads are everywhere
Stay tuned for Part 6 for more pictures as we get closer to the Summit date (June 26-27, 2010).
