Taare Zameen Par – Happy Children’s Day!

SubscribeFiled Under: Celebrations, Photo Essay,by Bhakti and Neeraj

Remember that magical time when anything and everything was possible? The time when there were no limits to what we could do and what we could be? The time before we talked about “reality”? The time before the “daily grind” started and the “9-to-5” life that we all have a love-hate relationship with?

Yes, that time was your childhood … my childhood … our childhood.

Children’s Day – celebrated across the globe on different days – is a celebration of that magical time in everyone’s life. We are celebrating Children’s Day on November 14th with this photo essay titled Taare Zameen Par – Stars on Earth.

The language everyone understands – we had no common spoken language between us, but this cute girl seen in a remote mountain village in Sikkim, India, knew how to communicate with us.

All smiles after I show them their digital picture on the LCD screen of my camera.

Best friends for life!

It’s a hard knock life… “There are people in the world so hungry that God cannot appear to them except in the form of bread.” – Gandhi

“Only where children gather is there any real chance of fun.” – Mignon McLaughlin

“Children are great imitators. So give them something great to imitate.” -Anonymous

Our most valuable resource – children

“We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today.” -Stacia Tauscher

“There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.” – Nelson Mendala
