In January itself, I had been hoping to finish writing about my “Moments from 2012”. I know it is March already, but its better late than never!

2012 was quite an eventful year for both, Bhakti and I. The beginning of the year was fairly quiet with my professional project winding down by the end of May. The action started in June when we temporarily moved to India.

We are pleased to take part in the weekly Thursday Challenge series organized by SpunWithTears.com. A picture related to a new theme announced each week will be posted here. Today’s theme is the “Round”.

The photo below of a chariot wheel was taken at the Sun Temple in Korark in the state of Odhisa (Orissa) in India. The intricately carved 13th century temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The temple, dedicated to the Sun God, is shaped like a chariot with 6 wheels on each side. Each of the 12 chariot wheels is a sundial and the shadow cast by the spokes can be used to tell the precise time of the day.
